Connecting with Leaders in Addiction Recovery
Recently, Flynn Home was proud to be represented at the APNC 2024 Fall Conference in Atlantic Beach. Executive Director Todd McLean attended the event, which brought together professionals, advocates, and leaders in addiction recovery to share knowledge and strategies for better serving individuals and communities affected by substance use disorders.
Learning and Sharing Ideas for the Future of Recovery
The conference, hosted by the Addiction Professionals of North Carolina (APNC), was its largest yet, featuring over 55 speakers, 45 exhibitors, and a range of sessions offering Continuing Education Units (CEUs). Highlights included discussions on the history of drug regulation, innovative approaches to care, and strategies for tailoring recovery services to meet local needs.
Reflecting on the event, Todd expressed gratitude for the opportunity to connect with others in the field. “It was inspiring to see so many people working together to make a difference,” he shared. “The sessions provided valuable insights, and I’m looking forward to bringing some of these ideas back to Flynn Home.”
Fostering Connections for a Stronger Recovery Community
The conference also emphasized the importance of building relationships and fostering a sense of community. From engaging plenary talks to a lively Halloween celebration, attendees left with both new knowledge and stronger connections within the recovery field.
Flynn Home is thankful to APNC for hosting such a meaningful event and to everyone who contributed to its success. As we continue to support individuals on their recovery journeys, we’re reminded of the importance of learning, collaboration, and shared purpose.
